Job Details

We’re looking for a Media and Public Affairs Officer to help us communicate clear and effective messages about the RSA and its work to a wide network of contacts, including the media, with a focus on influence and impact. You’ll work on drafting press releases, media monitoring and evaluation and day to day press enquiries as part of a small, fast-paced team.

Key skills and attributes we’re looking for are:
• An understanding of policy debates and how organisations can exert influence.
• Experience in media relations, public affairs, journalism, campaigning or policy (e.g. media outlet, campaigning organisation, think-tank or in government.)
• Very strong writing skills, including the ability to ‘spot the story’ and turn complex information into clear copy, written in plain English.
• Ability to work autonomously and show initiative within a small and fast-paced team.
• Strong IT and digital communication skills including experience across social media channels
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders externally (and internally).
• Good data analytical capabilities, including statistics.
• Aligned with the RSA’s core values.

This role is based from RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.
