Job Details

Seeking a hard-working and motivated Parliamentary Assistant to join his Westminster office.

The position would suit a highly organised person with sound judgement and excellent attention to detail. Applicants should have experience of working in Parliament.

  • Undertaking research.
  • Progressing casework by e-mail, phone, and letter.
  • Preparing press releases.
  • Organising and attending meetings.
  • Submitting Parliamentary Questions.
  • Assisting the MP with other duties as required.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Previous experience of dealing with casework.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work independently. 
  • An ability to prioritise competing demands and work well in a small friendly team.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

A start date in late June or early July is preferred but this can be flexible for the right candidate.
