Job Details

John Whittingdale is looking for a case worker to join his team.

The ideal candidate will be based in the Maldon constituency and will be able to work from home. No experience of casework is required but a background in community service and a desire to help local people is vital. Someone who has worked with the CAB or similar organisation would be well suited to this role. Training will be given in how to undertake parliamentary casework.

This is not a political role. It is expected that applicants will be broadly sympathetic to the aims of the Conservative Party but the role is one which is primarily concerned with suporting the local area and people who need assistance with welfare issues.

The role is part time with flexible hours to be discussed. It would suit someone looking to return to the workforce and can be flexibile around school holidays if needed.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
