Job Details

A Regional Communications Officer is an important role as part of the UK & Ireland Corporate Affairs team. You would devise/deliver an integrated communications plan that supports business and department strategy, driving trust in the brand across respective regions and supporting franchisees in their role as local spokespeople. Delivery of stand out ‘hero’ moments, positive local news, regional media queries, building positive relationships with journalists, elected representatives and influencers, project management of campaigns and supporting department colleagues.

• Develop, lead/implement a regional communications plan that aligns with department and business objectives, generating positive coverage in the local area; 
• Lead on communicating positive news about McDonald’s across the region by drafting press releases, selling-in to local media, developing impactful relationships with journalists.
• Assume responsibility for all regional press enquiries, responding to queries, and supporting the Press Office. This will include regular out of hours support.
• Develop a robust stakeholder engagement programme for the region, identifying and engaging with a wide range of local MPs and government representatives, supported by the franchisee community.
• Assume responsibility for the delivery of a project and/or campaign on behalf of the Corporate Affairs department. Developing the plan and framework, engaging all relevant agencies, setting and delivering against KPIs and managing the communication with internal audiences/partners.
• Support the company’s business strategy including growth plans, with communications support and local engagement for new restaurant applications, openings and extended hours licensing applications.
• Work closely with colleagues, owning regional audiences and reporting back any insights, successes or challenges. 

• As a field-based role, it will suit a motivated, self-starting individual who will enjoy the autonomy and responsibility of managing and prioritising their time and resources and leading the development and implementation of their regional plan.

• Driving license essential (car or car allowance provided).
