What You’ll Be Doing

• Demonstrating expertise in labour market analysis, providing insight in all aspects of the subject to internal and external customers.
• Providing quantitative analysis of survey data to generate insights on the world of work. Key surveys such as the labour force survey, understanding society, and our own annual UK working lives survey.
• Providing analytical support to members of the policy team. As an analyst, you will be bringing insights on a range of areas – not just limited to labour market analysis. This will include education and skills, pay and reward, and diversity and inclusion.
• Project managing and producing the CIPD’s quarterly labour market outlook publication. This involves surveying lager number of senior HR practitioners about the recruitment, redundancy, and pay intentions in the coming three months.
• Carrying out public speaking including internal & external video content, presenting to local CIPD branches, at conferences and on panels including our annual conference ACE in Manchester.
• Using data that is both publicly available and generated through in house surveying, to provide insights on the world of work.
• Engaging with policy makers through meetings and roundtables and giving evidence to select committees.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful


• Previous experience in a similar analyst type role.
• Degree in economics or a related discipline such as social science or psychology.
• Solid data analysis experience – using data to garner insights on the subject matter.
• Written communication – experience writing blogs and detailed reports.
• Strong oral communication skills – ability to do public speaking (i.e. radio, tv, panels, conferences etc.)
• Experience of using statistical software such as, SPSS/STATA/R.
• A passion for communicating using innovative and striking data visualisation, particularly experience with the ggplot2 R package.
