This new role within Phoenix Insights will manage a range of research and policy projects and work streams in a broad range of social policy areas relevant to longer lives, including core programmes in financial security, employment and skills and additional work in health, social care, homes and places. Some of the research and policy questions we are currently looking at include:

• How can we make the State Pension system fit for the 21st Century?
• What needs to change to make lifelong learning a reality for more people across their working lives?
• What is the best way to deliver initiatives such as the "Mid-life MOT" in practice?

There is plenty of scope to be innovative in helping to scope out the right questions to ask, and the best ways that we can get those answers using a range of research and analytical techniques, working collaboratively with external partners, or commissioning others.

You will help identify and scope key research questions, manage commissioned research projects and undertake in house analysis. You will identify and develop innovative and impactful policy solutions, in collaboration with others.
You will scope and manage a portfolio of research projects at all stages of the policy cycle. This will involve engaging with, commissioning and managing external providers as well as carrying out in house analysis.

We want to start to reframe how people think about their longer lives, and you will be key to finding the right policy makers and influencers to share our insights with. A key part of the role will be impactful and engaging use of written and other communications using evidence and insights to share key messages succinctly to internal and external audiences, including policy makers, academics, employers, practitioners and media.
