The fundraising team at the RCP helps to fulfil our charitable vision to secure the best possible health and healthcare for everyone. Our generous donors and sponsors fund a wide range of projects, from health inequalities research, to training of doctors in East, Central and Southern Africa, to conservation of our historic medical collections. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to get involved in supporting a successful and growing fundraising team as our development administrator. You’ll play a key role in bringing charitable funding into the RCP while also being trusted to oversee the funding and awards programme that we offer to our membership. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the fundraising sector or for a more established administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that donations to the RCP are processed and acknowledged in a timely manner
  • Organising meetings between prospective donors and RCP fundraisers
  • Managing events and private visits to thank and acknowledge donors for their support
  • Ensure that the reporting needs of donors are fully met
  • Administering the RCP’s funding and awards programme
  • Undertaking research on new sources of income
  • Providing support to the RCP’s Senior Physicians Society
  • Special projects as assigned

Experience

  • You'll have strong verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the senior level of our stakeholders
  • You’ll have excellent time-management skills and a proven ability to manage a diverse workload with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • You’ll have high standards of work presentation and careful attention to accuracy and detail
  • You’ll show discretion in handling sensitive information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • You’ll have a flexible, positive, collaborative attitude towards your work, along with the ability to work on your own initiative when required
