We are seeking a Manager to join the IOP’s Science and Innovation team for up to 12 months as a maternity cover. This is an exciting role and the successful candidate will i) manage a team of data analytical experts who provide evidence and data insights for the organisation, and ii) play a leading role in the development, management and delivery of projects focussed on emerging technologies, sectors and issues that matter to the physics community. This involves working with senior stakeholders and influential organisations across traditional boundaries - multi-disciplinary and across industry and academia.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

Provide leadership for the complex analytical work conducted by a team of data analysists, outputs of which are viewed by stakeholders and important to the reputation of the IOP.
Manage the team budget and resourcing, ensuring compliance with finance requirements.
Manage a diverse range of projects which may include stakeholder consultations to clearly define issues and scope of projects. Work will involve building robust evidence base to underpin work. Activities may include surveys, summits, publications and community engagements.
Enhance inter-departmental team working across the organisation, building interdisciplinary project teams, improving efficiencies and boosting our ability to be evidence based.
