About us

The LGA Cyber Security Programme is now in its 5th year, with the Digital Programme in its 8th. In January 2021, these programmes were merged to form the Cyber, Digital and Technology (CDT) Programme. In FY21/22 the total budget of the CDT programme was c£6M.

The role

As a Programme Manager within the Cyber, Digital and Technology Team, you will lead the cyber and digital SLI pillars. You will be required to deliver a programme of support designed to support councils to develop the knowledge, skills and tools needed to design modern and secure digital public services. This will involve leading a team, programme design and planning, managing budget, risk and programme processes and coordinating programme reporting both internally and externally.

As we encourage flexible working at the LGA, we are happy to discuss the option of a home-based contract. The salary for a home-based worker is £67,277 per annum or London office-based £71,054 pa (including London Weighting).

The requirements

  • Lead the Cyber and Digital SLI pillars of the LGA Cyber, Digital and Technology programme
  • To manage a programme of cyber, digital and technology projects designed to support councils to design modern and secure digital public services.
  • Lead, supervise and manage LGA staff to ensure that programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently, commission services and ensure the appropriate level of support and capacity to deliver services on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • To work directly with councils to identify common challenges and opportunities to contribute to the development of an ambitious LGA support programme.
  • Build relationships with officers and members within councils and develop digital and cyber networks and structures that support sector-led improvement.
