This is a great role for someone with likely a couple of years experience in relationship management, and some knowledge of Financial and Professional Services (but absolutely not necessary! - We've a whole department of experts here at the Corporation who will get you up to speed).

You will be responsible for helping us sustain strong relationships with key City firms, with your own portfolio of relationships to manage; involving them in the breadth of work we do from innovation, tech, regulation, skills, sustainable finance, trade and investment, placemaking and more.

Purpose of Post

This post will report to the Senior Strategic Relationship Manager and work with the External Relations Director, Elected Members, Senior Leadership Team and Business Intelligence Unit to support the development and delivery of a relationship management strategy. Specifically, the post will:

  • Support the delivery of a relationship management strategy that delivers impactful strategic engagement and effective coordinated relationship management across all areas of the City of London Corporation
  • Support the delivery of impactful strategic engagement and effective, co-ordinated relationship management:
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues within the Innovation and Growth Directorate and across the City of London Corporation to support the development of strong relationships with senior stakeholders in government, financial institutions and businesses, based in the UK and internationally
  • Working with the Senior Business Relationship Manager support the account management of a portfolio of businesses, developing strong, trusted relationships that enable the City Corporation, in collaboration with businesses, government and other financial institutions to deliver its strategic objectives
  • Ensure that members of IG are well informed about key relationships so that interactions can be targeted effectively in both the short and sustained in the long term.
  • Ensure that briefings for Elected Members are comprehensive and focussed on the most recent interactions to get the most out of senior stakeholder meetings.
