Background: Renewable UK Cymru is part of Renewable UK and is responsible for facilitating a renewable energy policy environment in which our members can operate, helping them grow their businesses and providing influencing and networking opportunities.
RUKC’s members are building and operating our future energy system, powered by clean electricity. We bring them together to deliver that future faster, a future which is better for industry, billpayers, and the environment. Our members are business leaders, technology innovators, and expert thinkers from across Wales.

Acting as a central point of information and a united, representative voice for our membership, RenewableUK Cymru conducts research; finds solutions; organises events and conferences, facilitates business development, advocates and promotes zero carbon renewables and the future energy system to government, industry, the media and the public.

Role overview: Overall responsibility for all activities within RenewableUK Cymru, including internal budget, management, reporting, marcomms and external representation

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsibility for RenewableUK Cymru P&L account

• Lead the strategic development process, engaging all staff, such that their efforts are appropriately aligned with objectives of RenewableUK and the interests of the industry in Wales
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of RenewableUK Cymru activity to appropriate forums, senior management, and the Board, so that activity is open to scrutiny
• Lead on representing the organisation and the sector to key media, on social media platforms and to other external stakeholders such as Senedd and UK Parliamentary committees.
• Maintain and improve internal communication, forging strong links with RenewableUK and Renewable NI colleagues and enabling best use of staff assets
• Build a supportive network of allied organisations to strengthen the influence and effectiveness of RenewableUK Cymru lobbying activities
• Exploit opportunities for business development within Wales
• Any other duties relevant to the role as specified by the line manager
