Job Details

It is an exciting time to join the Association following our part in the United to End MND campaign, the Government awarded £50 million for targeted MND research, the success of our multi-award-winning Scrap 6 Months campaign, and our Act to Adapt campaign. You could be an important part of driving continued change and improvements for those living with and affected by MND.

Working closely with the Public Affairs Manager to identify public affairs priorities and proactively identify opportunities to influence political debates and legislation to deliver the MND Association’s programme of public affairs activity.

As a Senior Public Affairs Adviser, you will represent the Association and ensure a coordinated approach to our parliamentary work at Westminster and locally. You will work collaboratively with the Policy Team to identify opportunities to take forward policy priorities through public affairs activity and brief parliamentarians for meetings and debates.

This is a diverse role which will include drafting correspondence and briefings for parliamentarians, supporting submissions to parliamentary inquires and developing effective links with key parliamentarians, influencers and decision makers.


What are we looking for?

A thorough understanding of parliamentary processes and procedures, and demonstratable public affairs experience within the voluntary organisation.

As a successful candidate, you will have experience of working with Parliamentarians in Westminster and/or in Parliament and experience of supporting volunteers in public affairs activities.

Your key skills will include the ability to successfully communicate with people at all levels from senior politicians to local volunteers, working effectively as a team player and networker.
