Sir Edward Davey MP is looking for a part-time highly motivated and experienced individual to work in his busy constituency office in Surbiton
The role will focus on managing Sir Edward’s constituency diary, including liaising with constituents and organisations to arrange events and meetings. The role will also involve some general administrative duties
Responsibilities:
• Manage constituency diary, with overall responsibility for arrangements, replying promptly to invitations, organising the logistics of constituency events and ensuring Sir Ed is fully briefed
• Manage and monitor incoming calls, in-person enquiries and emails dealing with enquiries that do not need to be transferred to a caseworker. Ensure all enquiries are dealt with sensitively, confidentially and in a timely manner
• Engage professionally, confidentially and with integrity with constituents and organisations, through various methods
• Maintain positive ongoing relationships with constituents and organisations
• Efficient data and file management to ensure the office complies with GDPR legislation
• Minute taking and other administrative support
• Compilation of briefing packs
Person Specification:
• Previous experience of diary management preferred but not essential
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence in interacting with people at all levels and in a variety of circumstances
• Able to prioritise a demanding workload to meet deadlines
• Able to deal with issues in a confidential manner
• Able to work effectively in a small team
• Competent use of IT, including full proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook and the internet. Experience of a casework management system or similar database would be an advantage
• Experience of working and dealing with the general public
• Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Liberal Democrats, with an interest in local and national issues - political experience is desirable but not essential.
