Working with the Executive Board of the Young European Movement (YEM UK), and the Field Team at the European Movement UK (EM UK), the Youth Engagement Officer is central to the growth and development of the Young European Movement UK.

Our mission is to become the natural home for pro-Europeans in the UK.

Through relationship, volunteer and intern management, developing and managing communication strategies, forming partnerships and organising a range of events, the Youth Coordinator will contribute to the following strategic objectives:

• Reshaping public opinion of the value of a closer relationship with the EU
• Raising the profile of the Young European Movement and growing its influence
• Strengthening our network of local activists.
• Encouraging more young people to get involved in the pro-European movement

As Youth Engagement Officer you will work with YEM UK´s Executive Board and with support from EM UK’s Field Team, to deliver these aims.

About the role

The successful applicant will initially be offered a 1 year contract, with the possibility of extension following its successful completion.

The role is primarily home-based, but you must be willing to travel across the UK occasionally to attend YEM events and meetings. There is also the opportunity to occasionally work from the European Movement offices in Central London.

About Young European Movement UK

YEM UK is the home for the UK’s young pro parent organisations: the youth European activists. We are the product of two section of the European Movement (EM) and the UK section of JEF Europe.

EM promotes the European project across the UK, and we operate as its youth section; open to all those aged under 35.

Through JEF, we work closely with our European counterparts, organ ising exchanges and joint events, and our members have access to JEF’s countless events including seminars, campaign tours, trips, workshops, and other international projects.
