The role

We are looking for a new Data Insights Analyst to play a central role in delivering and developing our work and impact on a number of high-profile data-led projects, including: London’s Poverty Profile; The Health Foundation Evidence Hub; and The Social Metrics Commission.

In the role you will:

  • Process a wide variety of data types (social survey, administrative etc.) in a codified environment (mostly R).
  • Produce high quality visuals to surface key insights for various forms of publication and for wide range of audience types.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and clients to produce impactful analysis and develop suitable audit trails and quality assurance of outputs.
  • Communicate your findings in an engaging written, verbal and visual manner.

About you

We are looking for someone who can bring the following to the role:

  • Quantitative experience: experience of applying statistical and/or economic techniques to provide analysis and insight that makes an impact with experts and non-experts. In particular, experience of data analysis and modelling skills in code environments, (for example one or more of R, STATA SPSS, SQL, SAS, Python).
  • Experience of using large-scale household surveys (e.g. Labour Force Survey, Family Resources Survey) and / or Government datasets such as Stat-Xplore and NOMIS.
  • Data visualisation: Experience of (or enthusiasm to gain experience in) creating data visualisations and interactive data dashboards using packages such as Tableau, QGIS, ArcGIS, Flourish and R.
  • Communications and writing skills: the ability to distil complex analyses clearly and concisely into a clear and comprehensible set of findings in both verbal and written formats.
