About you

Are you passionate about all things politics, food and farming and want to be part of a fast-paced team based in the heart of Westminster?

During a period of change and transition for the farming sector and our members, the NFU is looking to find a dynamic and ambitious individual to join our London office in the role of External Affairs Adviser.

This person will contribute to creating and supporting the delivery of our external affairs activity, working collaboratively with key external and internal stakeholders to raise the NFU’s campaigning and lobbying profile.

You will have an excellent understanding of the parliamentary process and how lobby organisations work within this environment. You will also have excellent communication, written, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Please note that this role is known as an ‘External Affairs Adviser’ within the NFU.

About the role

As part of the NFU’s External Affairs team you will support the team’s campaigning activities and help to deliver a full calendar of activity within Westminster to ensure that the NFU’s campaign and lobbying priorities are delivered effectively and collaboratively. You will also be required to support in the successful running of the NFU’s London Office and any meetings or events hosted by the NFU.

The successful candidate will be required to work some unsocial hours and must have flexibility to travel throughout the UK as required, including overnight stays when needed. In line with our hybrid working trial this role does afford an element of home working.
