Working For: Peterborough Conservative Association

Location: Peterborough

Salary: Approx £21,000-£22,000

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

The Peterborough Conservative Association is looking to recruit a full-time campaign manager. The Campaign Manager will work across all elections within the Peterborough constituency, including elections for Peterborough City Council in 2023. The association is looking towards the 2024 General Election, and assisting the Member of Parliament for Peterborough, Paul Bristow, with campaign activities.
The key to this role is flexibility as, even over a short period of time, political and campaigning priorities can change; working hours will of necessity be varied and flexible. This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic and ambitious on-the-ground campaigner who enjoys a wide-ranging role. This is a “rolling-up-the-sleeves”, do whatever needs to be done, constituency-based, campaigning role.
As a campaign manager you will be responsible for:
• Voter contact operations, including writing newsletters and desktop publishing
• Volunteer recruitment
• Managing volunteer phone banks, email distribution lists (including Mailchimp) and door-to-door canvassing
• Ensuring that the candidate, councillors and MP maintains a high profile
• Generating candidate, councillors and MP scheduling opportunities
• Using social media platforms for candidate, councillors and MPs engagement
• Managing postal vote recruitment and Get Out The Vote campaigns
• Motivating people to vote and volunteer
• Organising political meetings and events
• Executing Election Day operations
• Planning a comprehensive programme of fundraising events
The Campaign Manager must:
• Be well organised, professional and punctual
• Have strong written and communication skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Office
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Be able to lead and motivate colleagues and activists
• A driving licence and car would be an advantage
