Do you have a track-record in media or communications work and an interest in supporting a network of critical local healthcare providers?

If so, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) – soon to be renamed Community Pharmacy England – would like to hear from you as it looks to recruit a Media and Corporate Communications Manager.

This is a newly created role within the growing Communications and Public Affairs Team and will see the postholder working on behalf of a diverse range of business owners – there are currently 11,100 NHS community pharmacies in England, and we work on behalf of all of their owners. Key tasks will include supporting our work to communication with the pharmacies we represent, and working to champion pharmacy more widely including through the national media.

The successful candidate will be joining at a really exciting moment for our brand as we change our name to Community Pharmacy England to better reflect our role. Involvement in the rebranding exercise will be a significant piece of work in the early months of this job, which will be carried through as a responsibility to maintain a clear voice for the organisation going forwards. The new recruit will also support PSNC in carrying out a range of functions including drafting articles, press releases, comments, briefings and other materials to promote pharmacies.

We are looking for someone with previous success in either managing national media relations to deliver impactful coverage, or handling communications as part of significant corporate programmes and in a pressured environment. We are keen to hear from candidates who are highly competent at writing for a variety of audiences and have experience of working to tight deadlines. As well as being willing to roll their sleeves up and deliver day to day, they will have an eye to the bigger picture and be able to maintain a consistent narrative across work for both pharmacy and consumer audiences.
