Job Title: Constituency Caseworker

Job Details

Greg is looking for a full-time caseworker to be based in his constituency office in Winslow. You will work closely with Greg and his team to assist constituents with their queries and concerns.

The role is offered on a full-time basis and will require a degree of flexibility from the applicant, with occasional Saturday and evening working.

The main focus of the role will be helping with the smooth running of the constituency office, ensuring that constituent enquires are responded to in a timely manner, in line with GDPR. Previous administrative/customer service experience would be preferable, although training and support will be provided.

Key responsibilities include:

• Handling a high volume of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from constituents by phone, email, social media, or in person.
• Getting to know and understand local issues.
• Gathering relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
• Drafting responses to constituents.
• Ensuring that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP.
• Ensuring records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
• Supporting the MP in delivering local projects.
• Attending surgeries and other local meetings as appropriate.
• There may also be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
• Minute taking.
• Assisting other members of staff where needed.

The successful applicant will:

• Be sympathetic to values of the Conservative Party.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Have an ability to work proactively to manage competing deadlines, to prioritise tasks and work independently.
• Have a willingness to understand local issues.
• Have the ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner at all times.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.
• A genuine interest in helping constituents.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
