Permanent - Full time, 35 hours per week
If you are a passionate, proactive individual who wants to achieve equality for all 14 million disabled people in the UK, and you have a strong grasp of how things work in Westminster, we want to hear from you.
The role
You will be responsible for leading the Political Strategy function at Scope, managing the team, delivering our influencing strategy and activities in Westminster, and ensuring the voice of disabled people is heard by political decision makers. We are increasingly active in Wales too, so some understanding of The Senedd is required.
Working with the Policy Managers and Campaigns and Mobilisation manager, you will make sure we have strong and effective influencing strategies and that our policy objectives are achieved. You will provide strategic and timely political insight and briefings to colleagues across the department, as well as Scope’s senior leadership and Board of Trustees as appropriate.
As an effective and persuasive communicator, you will also be an external ambassador for Scope representing the organisation at events and in meetings.
About you
• You’ll need excellent understanding of Parliament and Whitehall, and have a great track record in developing, delivering, and measuring impactful social change through public affairs.
• We want someone who is able to think creatively and identify new ways of doing things.
• Some experience of management would be a bonus but isn’t essential.
• Building and maintaining relationships is key to this role, and you will need to demonstrate the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders alike.
