Role 1 - Public Affairs Manager

We are looking for a Public Affairs Manager to support us in our mission to transform the physics landscape for the UK and Ireland, and ensure a thriving physics ecosystem that contributes to innovation, discovery, research, growth and debate in the UK, Ireland and beyond.

What will I be doing?

  • Developing and implementing a public affairs plan that reflects the IOP's strategic priorities and programmes.
  • Identifying key decision makers and advising on how to engage with them in a convincing manner.
  • Identifying new opportunities and risks associated with the IOP’s external policy work, and making recommendations on how to engage with these in a timely and effective manner.

Projects you work on may include:

  • The IOP’s Productivity programme
  • The IOP’s work to increasing representation in physics
  • The IOP’s work on highlighting the value of physics in society

Salary - up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) - Closing Date 03.10.2022

Role 2 - Coordinator (Contracts)

We are looking for a Learning & Skills Coordinator (Contracts) to support us in our mission to transform the physics landscape for the UK and Ireland, and ensure a thriving physics ecosystem that contributes to innovation, discovery, research, growth and debate in the UK, Ireland and beyond.

What will I be doing?

  • Embedding procurement, control and quality assurance processes for new contracts ranging from £1k to £2m; ensuring that they deliver value for money by adopting the most economic, efficient, and effective approaches;
  • Managing freelance contracts (ranging from £1k to £25k) that will help deliver impact against aspirations 1,2 and 4;
  • Providing strategic support to the Senior Contracts Officer, Influencing and Engagement team, and head of department

Projects you work on may include:

  • Working with external organisations to increase physics-related apprenticeships and technical roles;
  • Supporting the Learning team strategic leads with events, resources and digital engagement for the physics teaching community throughout their career.

Salary - up to £25,000 (depending on experience) Closing Date 19.09.2022
