Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Liberal Democrats are making a real difference to residents' lives in Cambridgeshire. Since 2018 they have been in control of South Cambridgeshire District Council, in 2021 they became the leading party running Cambridgeshire County Council, and in 2022 they took the leadership of Huntingdonshire District Council. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who can work with local parties across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and help them achieve upcoming goals such as taking control of East Cambridgeshire District Council in 2023, making further gains on the County Council, and electing at least one Liberal Democrat MP in the area at the next general election.

The Volunteers Organiser role is a fantastic opportunity to lead the work of building the infrastructure and organisation necessary to achieve these aims, and will also give someone the opportunity to grow and develop their current skills. It would suit someone who is motivated and keen to see the Liberal Democrats succeed.

Job Description

  • Working with the Regional Campaign Manager and campaigners in local parties to create (where needed) and implement a winning campaign plan.
  • Building campaigning and organisational capacity – including recruiting members, donors, deliverers and poster sites.
  • Working with local parties to identify and fill gaps in their organisation, and working with Regional Campaigns Staff to upskill and train local parties.
  • Maintaining relevant databases e.g. deliverers, poster sites, etc.
  • Organising events (e.g. campaign action days) and recruiting attendees.
  • Helping to maintain volunteer management databases, social media, websites and other digital infrastructure.
  • Signposting training events, resources, and best practice to campaigners.
  • Identifying opportunities and developing plans for enhancing volunteer engagement / activation and working with local parties on these
  • Attending relevant conferences, training and other meetings as required.
