Beth Winter MP is looking for a dedicated part-time caseworker (3 days per week) to join her busy Constituency team in Cynon Valley. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated with a keen interest in Politics.
Job description:
• Dealing with correspondence, telephone enquiries and emails and providing timely responses
• Organising and attending surgeries, other relevant meetings, and taking notes
• Gathering information relevant to assist with resolving cases
• Exposure to complex cases
• Liaising with various agencies and organisations to resolve constituents' problems
• Draft responses to constituents
• Logging all cases, monitoring progress and ensuring that actions are taken
• Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP
• Retaining records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
• Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public
Skills required:
Essential:
• Experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good IT skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to deal with constituents and community groups in a helpful and sympathetic manner
• Experience of multi-agency working
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
• Knowledge and understanding of Data Protection requirements
Desirable:
• Understanding of the software programme Caseworker MP
• Ability to speak Welsh
• Driving licence
