Job Title: Mayoral Correspondence Officer
Working For: West of England Combined Authority
Salary: £31,895 - £35,336
Length of Contract: Up to 12 months
The West of England Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Mayoral Correspondence Officer, to join the Policy team and working closely with the Mayor's office.
This is an exciting time to join the West of England Combined Authority. In the last year nearly three quarters of a billion pounds of new investment has been secured for the region. New plans are in place to deliver on Mayoral priorities to improve transport, skills and housing for our residents, take decisive action to tackle the climate emergency, and to support communities facing the cost-of-living crisis. There is a relentless focus on delivery to put the West of England on the map for regional, national and global success.
Led by the regional Metro Mayor, the West of England Combined Authority brings together three local councils, the Local Enterprise Partnership and works with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.
We are offering an opportunity to play a crucial role in the West of England Combined Authority managing an interface between the Mayor and residents of the region. As correspondence officer you will ensure that issues raised with the Mayor by residents of the region are considered and responded to in an appropriate and timely way. You will work closely with the Mayor’s office and officers across the Combined Authority and be based in the Policy Team.
You will develop a clear view of the Mayor’s preferred style of writing and will oversee responses from across the organisation to ensure consistency.
Comfortable drafting correspondence for a public audience, you will develop a library of standard responses to the most commonly raised issues and will develop and implement improvements to the correspondence management process. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. For an informal discussion, please contact - Rachel Pykett - Head of Policy - firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a 12 month Fixed Term opportunity.
