Job Details

Do you believe that the Bible speaks into politics? That the Bible can be the basis of public policy that enables people to flourish? Are you passionate about speaking up for the vulnerable and marginalised, and bringing marginalised voices into the centre? Then perhaps you are ready to join a dynamic and growing team with an exciting new vision.

CARE (Christian Action, Research and Education) has been at the heart of research, advocacy, education programmes and social action projects that have sought to change perceptions of how the Bible can be the basis of effective public policy solutions to some of our biggest social and political challenges for almost 40 years.

CARE brings together experience and expertise as a research centre, think tank, social action incubator, church equipper and leadership trainer to be an authentic Christian voice in the public square. At the heart of our work is understanding and engaging in the key political debates of our day, to shape current and future public policy.

We are looking for an innovative, creative, highly skilled and energetic influencer who is excited by the prospect of building a reputation for subject policy expertise in areas such as poverty, family policy, beginning of life bioethics, children and young people, immigration, violence against women, disability or freedom of speech and religion.

You will be passionate about the relevance of God’s word for the politics and culture of today and excited about bringing faith, good research and practical evidence to bear on public policy and legislation. You will be comfortable speaking to politicians, academics and members of church congregations alike. Whether producing briefings, drafting speeches, analysing and producing research and legislation, or writing an email, you will delight in doing it all!

For further information, read the detailed Job Profile. There is a genuine occupational requirement for this role to be filled by a Christian – see CARE’s statement of faith.
