Job Title: Parliamentary Researcher

Working For: Nick Fletcher MP (Don Valley)

Salary: £27,000

Length of Contract: 6 months initially with possibility of permanent contract

Job Details

Nick Fletcher, Member of Parliament for Don Valley, is looking for a full time Researcher to join his team in Westminster. This role is focused on policy casework but will include other administrative tasks as required.


Responsibilities

  • Managing Mr Fletcher's policy casework
  • Researching local, regional, and national issues to support Mr Fletcher’s Parliamentary work
  • Preparing briefing notes ahead of meetings
  • Creating graphic designs and digital art for Mr Fletchers campaigns and newsletters
  • Carrying out general administrative duties

 

Requirements

  • Must have strong communication skills, particularly written communication
  • Ability to work independently in a small team
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and manage a busy workload
  • Experience with digital editing software
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will begin the week of 10 October, interviews will take place in person in parliament. The position will start as soon as possible.
