We live in exciting yet challenging times. The workforce in the UK is going through significant change, and older workers will be key to the future of our economy. Evidence points to the benefits of age inclusivity, but not enough employers understand them. Those that do may still be struggling to attract and retain older workers. We want to change this – and we are looking for someone to lead the agenda.

You will be reaching out to employers across the country to wake them up to the reality of the ageing workforce and its benefits – and running a network and programme of activity to help them realise those benefits. The centerpiece of this will be an employer ‘pledge’. You will be an account manager, a strategic leader and a public champion of age-inclusivity.

You will work with a supportive Business Leadership Group with links to central government that we have established. It comprises captains of industry and provides us with an – as yet – untapped opportunity to challenge the ageism that exists in current employment practices and to pave the way for change, getting significantly more employers committed to age inclusivity. You will also be a key influencer of other organisations such as policy think tanks and place shaping organisations, and others such as CIPD and ACAS.

Throughout relationship management will be a key aspect of this role. This role offers an opportunity to build something that could make a lasting change to the workplace in the UK – and a friendly and supportive team of colleagues to help you do it.
