Stella Creasy is looking to employ a Constituency and Casework Assistant to join her team in Walthamstow on a fixed term contract until the end of March 2023. This is an exciting and time limited opportunity for someone who wants to change lives by being part of a dynamic group of people passionate about social justice, during the cost of living crisis. The successful applicant will work within a small team to support the MP dealing with a wide range of issues and in providing a first class advice service to the people of Walthamstow.

The role will focus primarily on casework and community outreach. It will involve dealing directly with constituents on a wide range of issues and assisting the other members of Stella’s office.

Key tasks will include:

  • Responding to enquiries by telephone and email, including passing on queries as appropriate
  • Working with colleagues on community engagement projects addressing the cost of living crisis
  • Engage professionally, confidentially and with care and integrity with members of the public, through a variety of methods
  • Data entry and management to capture the issues residents are raising with the MP
  • Assisting with appropriate research relating to constituency issues
  • Assisting with casework, including drafting correspondence to constituents.

  • A polite and professional manner
  • Self-motivated and able to drive forward work independently
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills
  • Good IT skills (proficiency in Word, Outlook, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Excel)
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload efficiently
  • Able to manage sensitive information in a secure and sympathetic manner
  • The ability to work independently and remotely, whilst also contributing to a small, tight-knit team
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour and Co-Operative parties.
