Job Title: Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager

Working For: Association of Colleges

Location: London

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Length of Contract: Permanent

Job Details

Colleges have been receiving increased focus from politicians and policy-makers in recent years. However, there remain fundamental challenges facing the sector – with long-standing under-investment in the sector now compounded by more immediate funding pressures, and the need longer-term ultimately to build an education and skills system that is able to deliver for people, employers and communities to meet the challenges of the future.

The Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager will play a central role in managing and strengthening our engagement across Whitehall and with key stakeholders and influencers, to build on our existing strong relationships and profile, and take it to the next level. This is ultimately about ensuring that the potential of colleges to transform lives is understood by decision-makers and influencers and reflected in policy-making, and leading thinking to build a system that can fully deliver on this.

The role comes at an exciting time – as we work to engage with a new administration in Whitehall, build upon the increasing focus being given to colleges and the wider skills system, and as we look towards a general election within the next few years. We are looking for an exceptional candidate, who is ambitious about the potential to take this forwards and deliver real impact.

Location: London office based with flexibility to work in a hybrid way (1 day per week required to be worked from the London office)

Hours: full time, 37.5 per week and will require regular travel in London.
