Job Title: Programmes and Engagement Manager (Four Nations College Alliance)

Job Details

Key changes and challenges across the world mean we need a revolution in how we think about education and skills. Policy-makers in each of the four nations have all recently launched significant new policy initiatives and reform agendas - which all point to the need for a significantly enhanced role for colleges in building a fairer, greener, healthier and more productive society.

The Programmes and Engagement Manager (Four Nations College Alliance) will manage the work of the Four Nations College Alliance – a network of college leaders and policy-makers across the UK, formed in 2017. By bringing together leaders and officials, the Alliance has become an important vehicle contributing to practice and policy across the UK. The aspiration is to increasingly be the place for peer exchange and discussion on how to lead a ‘reimagining’ of the role colleges – as set out by the Independent Commission on the College of the Future – over the coming decade and beyond.

The role will also manage the work of the Independent Commission on the College of the Future, chaired by Sir Ian Diamond, which will include coordinating our programme of events and engagement, and coordinating policy outputs, including producing reports. There is an exciting opportunity to build on the work of the Commission to continue to lead thinking on the role, scope and purpose of colleges, and the changes that are required to deliver on the vision of the college of the future.

This role provides a unique opportunity to play a central role within two high profile and high impact projects, and to bring an innovative and fresh approach to developing our activities, engagement and impact. Being a new role in a growing area, it provides significant development opportunities and the ability to achieve significant impact in a critical area of public policy.

This role is full time, 37.5 per week.

Location: Flexible/Hybrid: mainly home working with occasional travel to AoC London office and other locations across the UK
