Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, talented and experienced Campaigns Manager to join Kinship and lead the delivery of its campaigns to raise awareness and influence policy, to improve support for kinship carers and their families.

This is a strategic role in a growing charity within the Communications and External Affairs directorate. The Campaigns Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Directors of Communications and External Affairs and the Head of Campaigns and Communications to develop the charity’s Kinship Campaigners programme, funded by Comic Relief, mobilising thousands of kinship carers in England and Wales to become engaged, effective and empowered campaigners. The Campaigns Manager will lead on delivering this in a focused, proactive and creative way that aligns with the charity’s wider influencing work.

You’ll manage a Senior Campaigns Officer and work with colleagues across the organisation (in particular the Policy and Public Affairs team, Media & Communications Manager, and Development Manager in Wales) to manage and deliver our recently launched Value our Love campaign. You’ll be focused on developing and implementing a compelling campaign strategy, recruiting and mobilising campaign supporters through engaging digital content and tactics, and working alongside kinship carers, to build a powerful community of kinship carers to catalyse change nationally and locally. Storytelling and the first-hand experiences of kinship carers will be at the heart of our approach, raising the profile of kinship care and making it an issue that cannot be ignored.

This is an exciting time to join Kinship as the organisation implements an ambitious growth strategy, and with kinship care more in the spotlight than ever before. You’ll be part of an ambitious, influential and supportive team working closely with colleagues across the organisation, kinship carers and kinship care experienced young people to develop a new strategic approach to influencing, campaigns, engagement and communications.

Closing Date: 28 November 2022
