Job Details

Are you an expert in the decarbonisation of land and agriculture and keen to design and communicate new analysis to the media and MPs?

The Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) is a non-profit which supports informed debate on energy and climate change issues in the UK.

We’re looking for a land use expert to lead our programme of work on this critical part of the UK’s net zero transition.

Since the programme was launched almost two years ago, it has attracted media coverage on BBC World News, Sky News, Times Radio, The Daily Telegraph, The Sun, and many more, through activities such as analysis of the rising cost of fertiliser to farmers, and a major report on the extra cost of climate change for food bills.

You’ll be commissioning and conducting your own analysis, keeping on top of key developments and new evidence and working with our internal team to communicate this. You’ll be supported in giving media interviews, producing briefings, blogs and social media material.

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 28 November 2022, or shortly thereafter, with the aim of the successful applicant starting as early as possible in the New Year.

Please send a CV and one-page cover letter to admin@eciu.net before midday on the closing date. Please also include a copy of a recent article or blog published in print or online, on a topic pertinent to climate change or land use.
