• Support the delivery of the international engagement strategy for UK Finance
• Support work to get the most from our membership of cross-sectoral, European and international trade associations, including:
• TheCityUK and the City of London Corporation – to maximise collective efficacy and avoid duplication of effort
• European Banking Federation, European Payments Council, International Banking Federation etc. – to enhance UK Finance influence in these bodies
• Support our work to build and strengthen our relationships with allies and third party “validators”, including:
• Think tanks and relevant NGOs
• Other national financial services trade associations
Information Services
• Provide political analysis, institutional understanding, policymaker introductions and background information
• Monitor and interpret developments abroad; alert members and colleagues to key EU and global developments
Engagement and influence abroad
• Map and prioritise EU and other rest-of-world stakeholders (for the benefit of both members and colleagues)
• Support our work to build and leverage UK Finance’s relationships with these stakeholders
• Support colleagues’ activity abroad (whether operational work or to influence policy) within the overall UK Finance international and EU strategy
• Provide input into written briefings for colleagues ahead of their external engagements
Public policy: trade and other policy
• Support our work on:
• Member priorities for access to markets abroad
• Member priorities for cross border operation of global financial services groups
• Support policy colleagues to develop and execute international advocacy plans in their respective policy areas
