Bright Blue is an independent think tank for liberal conservatism. Our mission is to defend and improve liberal society. Our primary role is to explain, vet, change and create government policy.

We have a strong focus on energy and environment policy, creating an impressive body of rigorous research and transformative policy ideas that have been adopted by successive governments in recent years.

We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow to join our organisation. We welcome candidates from a wide range of research backgrounds.

The candidate must have a strong knowledge of and interest in UK energy and environment policy.

Research

  • Creating new research ideas, drafting research proposals, and seeking funding for our research work.
  • Conducting literature reviews and data analysis, and designing and analysing polling, focus groups and depth interviews.
  • Co-authoring independent research reports.
  • Generating imaginative and credible policy ideas.
  • Commissioning, editing, and overseeing work of Bright Blue Associate Fellows and independent experts.

Events

  • Devising, fundraising for, and chairing a variety of Bright Blue events, including roundtable discussions and keynote speeches with high-profile decision-makers and opinion formers.
  • Attending and representing Bright Blue at roundtable discussions and public events.

External affairs

  • Engaging with, and building a network of, key stakeholders such as civil servants, special advisers, representatives from the private and third sectors, academics, journalists and politicians.
  • Writing regular opinion articles.
  • Representing Bright Blue in the media.
  • Becoming a recognised figure on energy and environment policy.
  • Leading Bright Blue’s fundraising efforts on energy and environment policy.
