Job Details

Andrea Jenkyns MP is seeking a well organised and highly motivated individual for the role of Senior Communications Officer, to be based in her Westminster Office.

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and develop appropriate strategies around social media and online presence in the constituency. Produce online graphics and video content, as well as publicising surgeries and news alerts
  • Manage Andrea's website and contents, ensuring that it is kept fully up to date
  • Design and develop engaging, targeted content and messages across a wide range of channels

Travel to the constituency will be required on a semi-regular basis.

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a team-player with project management experience and a determination to help Andrea deliver her priorities for her constituents. An understanding of HR and team management is desirable.

You will need to be both politically and media savvy, and have experience in both writing and in preparing content for social media, including graphics and videos.

You should also have a knowledge and understanding of the issues in both Morley and Outwood and the wider West Yorkshire region. 

Candidates should be sympathetic to the values and aims of the Conservative Party.

Upon appointment you will be required to apply for security clearance, undertaken by the Security Vetting and Pass Office. See Members’ Staff Security Clearance page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis, and a candidate may be appointed before the close date for this advert. 

Candidates will be required to undertake a written task as part of the application.

The successful candidate will ideally begin as soon as possible.
