Job Details

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge and experience of digital monitoring tools to monitor and evaluate performance and impact of projects.
• Apply and develop specialist knowledge in approaches and methods for monitoring and evaluating online strategic communications interventions.
• Apply and develop specialist knowledge in approaches and methods for countering disinformation.
• Coordinate closely with account managers/executives to plan and deliver MERL activities and deliverables against client needs.
• Coordinate with in-country project partners to deliver MERL activities, research and capacity building.
• Present MERL activities and deliverables to clients.
• Follow and contribute to standardised MERL protocols, procedures and templates.
• Research, pursue and experiment with innovative MERL approaches and methods to expand MERL offerings to projects.
• Work quickly and energetically on complex projects spanning a range of stabilization, development and communications themes.
• Use the research and knowledge gained from monitoring and evaluating projects to contribute to new business proposals and articles for key stakeholders.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of two years of experience in the monitoring and evaluation of international development, stabilization, communications or peace projects.
• Familiarity with:
o Developing theories of change and results frameworks.
o Designing quantitative and qualitative tools and research approaches.
o Designing and implementing MERL plans for projects.
o Execution of quality control and assurance over all elements of the research cycle (including data collection, analysis, etc).
o Writing high quality research and analytical reports in English.
o Managing relations with in-country partners on complex and fast-paced projects.

Desirable Experience and Skills

• Experience working in fragile and conflict-affected states.
• Knowledge of social and behavioural communication change (SBCC) theories.
• Experience in gender analysis and knowledge of GESI frameworks.
• Experience in strategic communications, media development or countering disinformation.
• Experience using SPSS, NVIVO and other analysis tools.
• Experience using Google Analytics and social media listening tools.
