About the role
The Account Director (AD) is a key driver of the team, leading stakeholder engagement and communications consultancy across a range of projects. The AD holds responsibilities on client and internal projects. They also have line management duties and take an active role in leading and coordinating new client engagement.
Duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate IM values and behaviours in all ways of working; enable team members to do the same
- Lead day to day client relationships on one or more projects, managing team members to ensure on-time, high quality delivery
- With input from others, develop and deliver impactful campaigns and strategies to support client objectives
- Build on trusted advisor relationships with clients and senior project stakeholders, maintaining a strong profile as a leader in the field
- Taking a strategic approach, work with IM and project colleagues to drive best practice and to establish better practice
- Oversee account management admin, such as managing project hours and billing
- Identify new client engagement opportunities through monitoring relevant industry and political trends, and client relationship building
- Contribute to, or lead, new business pitches and proposals
- Line manage team members and promote values to develope and nurture talent, driving excellence and building our reputation
- Working with the team, develop a range of new internal materials, including projects, processes and lessons learned papers

- Strong, effective track record of building and managing relationships
- Campaigning mindset, able to think creatively and strategically
- Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial
- Relevant qualification
- Confidence and experience dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Experienced in a relevant field, able to translate this into positive outcomes
