The Parliamentary Advocacy Officer Education will be a key part of our Parliamentary Advocacy Team. Reporting to the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy, will work closely with the Education Advocacy Consultant to deliver advocacy on global education. In this role the post-holder will take responsibility for leading the parliamentary work of RESULTS UK on global education and will provide the secretariat for the APPG on Global Education.

The post-holder will also be working closely with other members of the Parliamentary, Policy and Grassroots Teams in order to deliver on RESULTS’ overarching objectives. Being generous with the sharing of knowledge, advocacy expertise, and contacts while working in a collaborative environment is essential.

The post-holder will work closely with hosted organisations, IPNEd (the International Parliamentary Network for Education) and SMF (Send My Friend to School) coalition as well as the APPG on Global Education to work together effectively, to increase political will around global education, with a particular focus on the global learning crisis. Both the post holder and the Education Advocacy Consultant will engage with the SMF PPWG (Policy and Parliamentary Working Group), with the postholder engaging more in the parliamentary side more whilst the Education Advocacy Consultant engages more in the policy side.

This role is suitable for someone with public affairs or political advocacy experience, preferably in the UK, who understands the way that political decisions impact global poverty and want to influence these decisions.
