Job Details
This is an exciting time to join Twins Trust. We have a new strategy and have redoubled our commitment to create a world where all twins, triplets or more - and their families – feel supported and empowered, whatever they may face.
This newly created role will lead on our work to ensure that government policy reflects the unique needs of multiples and their families and push the government to make changes that will have positive impacts for our community.
The role will lead on our campaigning work, mobilising the community’s voice and ensuring that it reaches key decision makers. The post will be a part of the communications team, thereby ensuring that campaigns are communicated effectively to the charity’s members and other key audiences.
Twins Trust fulfils an important role in ensuring that the healthcare system – particularly maternity units - caters for the needs of multiple birth families. This post will support Twins Trust’s healthcare engagement team to ensure that we are communicating effectively with key influencers and policy makers within the healthcare sector.
We know that childcare issues are fundamental to multiple birth families and the postholder will help the charity to develop its campaigning work in this area.
You will do all of this by analysing national and local policy developments, gathering evidence, drafting policy papers and briefings; designing and implementing influencing strategies to achieve policy change.
About you
Are you passionate about multiple birth families?
Are you a team player with experience of developing and delivering programmes of campaigning and influencing activities and with knowledge of the UK policy environment?
Do you want to bring about tangible social change?
Then this job might be for you!
To be successful in this role you will be a campaigner with excellent public affairs and parliamentary knowledge. You’ll have a track record of leading policy campaigns to successfully influence change at a national government level. You’ll be acutely aware of the policy making process across government, understand the need for pragmatism and diplomacy in designing campaign strategies and tactics that engage all political parties to bring about policy change, and bring creativity and energy to planning parliamentary engagement campaign actions.
Closing Date: 13 January 2023
