The Principal for Strategic Policy is responsible for promoting high-quality, coordinated and effective policy making, advocacy and planning across UK Finance

Key Responsibilities

• Lead policy development at UK Finance in relation to cross-cutting and wider strategic policy issues affecting the sector.
• Co-ordinate, shape and respond to important and cross-cutting regulatory issues as published by UK, European
and global regulators. This will include establishing UK Finance’s position on issues by consulting members to produce thought leadership papers.
• Closely follow the political debate and the impact on financial services, working with colleagues across the business to establish our advocacy positions on matters of strategic importance to the industry.
• Lead the operation of UK Finance’s Policy Committee.
• Help manage UK Finance’s relationship with its members on key policy issues and advocacy positions.
• Represent the interests of UK Finance and members with political, governmental, regulatory and industry audiences, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Support colleagues in other teams across UK Finance in their engagement and provide counsel to members and senior colleagues on key policy matters.
• Establish and manage relationships with associate members who can provide benefits to members through their expertise.
• Work with colleagues to provide effective horizon scanning that shapes UK Finance’s planned activities.
