Job overview
We are looking for a passionate and politically-aware person to join the strong team as a Labour Group Support Officer, supporting the Leader of the Council, Executive Members and Labour Group Councillors.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide policy, admin and communications support to Labour councillors to aid them in carrying out their functions as members of the Council.

You should be someone who can make things happen with a problem-solving attitude and strong attention to detail.

You should have experience of working in a political environment, be flexible both in working methods and hours, and have a friendly and positive manner.

If you have excellent communication skills, imagination, are able to build good relationships with a variety of people, take the initiative and work as part of a team, we want to hear from you.

Working for your organisation
This is an exciting role in a busy and dynamic office at the heart of one of the country’s highest profiles and most forward-thinking councils. You will be supporting the majority group to take forward their objectives and will be working closely with councillors, supporting the Leader and Executive to make effective decisions.
