Job Details

A great opportunity has risen for a Case Studies Officer in our Clean Air team to lead on growing our network of storytellers across the country and ensuring that their voices can be heard. You will join our Clean Air team at an exciting time as we plan to launch our next Clean Air Campaign to influence the UK Government in setting new legal targets for air pollution in towns and cities across the country, and considering new measures to tackle toxic air.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You’ll be working with other teams to source new potential case studies of people affected by air pollution, interview them, build close relationships and then work closely with our media and digital teams to identify opportunities for them to support our communications and campaigns.

You will have the ability to sensitively interview and build rapport with people willing to share their stories combined with the knowledge of what makes an engaging media story. You will have experience of sourcing compelling case studies, working with patient groups, community campaigners or volunteers and writing compelling stories and content.

One of our strategic aims is to tackle health inequalities, particularly around health outcomes for people from minority ethnic groups, and so we'd therefore particularly welcome applications from people from those backgrounds.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.

Location: Remote or London based depending on the right candidate.
