Stella Creasy is recruiting a Parliamentary and Campaigns Officer to support her and her CLP. Working across Walthamstow and Westminster, the successful candidate will be part of a small team dedicated to securing change at a local, national and international level.
The ideal candidate will relish working with a wide range of people whether in a local community, national campaign organisations or our democratic institutions. They will always make a round of tea, answer the phone and help colleagues with tasks big or small, whilst being ready to fight for what they believe in and appreciating every volunteer. It is not a role for anyone who wants to do ‘strategic communications’, but for someone who enjoys the graft involved in making change happen.
This role works both in Parliament and for Walthamstow CLP who contribute to the oversight and funding of this role, and will include organisational activities in the run up to the next General Election.
The role will include:
- Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure Member is informed on key issues
- Diary Management, including organising community events
- Efficient data management to ensure the office complies with the data protection legislation
- Working with the executive of Walthamstow Constituency Labour party to ensure the smooth running of the CLP and supporting members to be involved in campaigning and administrative activities
- Supporting the MP to progress campaigns in Parliament and the constituency
- Help draft amendments and prepare briefing material
- Maintain positive on-going relationships members of the public, groups, and in Westminster
- Assist with casework
- Respond to routine correspondence and enquiries
- This role will require occasional evening and weekend work
The successful candidate will have:
- A years’ experience working in a political or campaigning role [Essential]
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience undertaking research and identifying key political lines
- An understanding of Parliamentary processes
- Sympathy with the aims and objectives of the Labour Party, and experience of local political organising within the Labour movement
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with campaigns technology, including database management and digital design, would be beneficial

Interview/Start Dates
Applications close at noon on March 30th. Interviews will be held in person in Walthamstow on April 4th, with the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
Reasonable expenses to enable candidates to attend the interview will be reimbursed.
