We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Public Affairs Manager to join our public affairs team.

The role

  • Work with the Head of Public Affairs, Long-term Savings in the development and implementation of a public affairs programme to raise the profile of the Phoenix Group and its long-term savings policy agenda
  • Take the lead on public affairs activity for key long-term savings issues relevant to Phoenix Group
  • Analyse, develop and maintain a log of public policy positions which meet the business’ long-term saving’s objectives
  • Provide relevant advice and support to the business on policy and political developments and briefings ahead of meetings with key stakeholders
  • Work with the Head of Public Affairs in developing and maintaining relationships with key Government, Parliamentary and other relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and leverage pro-active engagement opportunities, to promote Phoenix Group and Standard Life with external stakeholders as a leading authoritative voice on long-term savings public policy issues
  • Work with trade associations and other partners to influence external stakeholders
  • Represent the public affairs team in the business and externally on long-term savings issues

What are we looking for?

  • Public Affairs experience in financial services from an agency or in house role, or from a relevant role in Government, ideally with long-term savings experience
  • Strong communicator, able to represent the Group externally
  • Excellent written skills, with ability to provide succinct information and briefings on often technical or complex issues to a wide range of audiences, from internal teams to Parliamentarians
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, and record of delivery
  • Experience of stakeholder management and engagement
