About the role
As the Communications and Press Officer, you will support the Association for Decentralised Energy's (ADE) work to create a low carbon energy system that empowers energy users to make the best choices for their needs.
You will be creating written communications, talking to journalists, driving political and public engagement, posting on social media, organising events and managing the website. Your fantastic communication skills will help ensure the ADE is visible, compelling and making a real impact.

About you
You must be:
• Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment, able to exercise project management skills and work independently
• A self-starter with a proactive attitude
• Experienced drafting and editing high-quality written content
• Happy working closely with colleagues across the organisation and building important interpersonal relationships within the sector
• Creative and able to generate new ideas, think on your feet and cope under pressure
• Organised, taking pride in closing out projects and pleasure in a job well done
• Experienced operating the backend of websites and online platforms

It would be desirable, but not essential, for you to be:
• Experienced in planning, organising and running events, either in-person or online
• Knowledgeable about energy policy and the wider political context
• Connected with your own established professional network, ideally in energy, politics or the press
