Job Details

Join the dynamic Bath and North East Somerset Liberal Democrats team as our new Community Campaign Organiser, a brand-new role in of one of the country's leading local Lib Dem parties.

In 2019 we went from 15 councillors to 37 and took control of B&NES Council for the first time and went onto increase our Bath MP’s majority to 12,000 in the general election and more than doubled our vote in North East Somerset. In 2023 we increased our councillors to 41 and became the first party to win a second term at B&NES Council. We are now looking towards the general election next year and electing more Lib Dem MPs in B&NES.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to make a real impact on the ground, focusing on key development areas within B&NES. You won’t be stuck in an office all day, you will be out there on the group working directly with communities, councillors, and candidates to build grassroot campaigns and bring about change in peoples’ lives.

Your responsibilities will include identifying local campaign issues, recruiting new members, and expanding our networks. Following our success in May of maintaining control of B&NES Council and increasing our majority, this role will play a vital part in our continued growth. You will also support campaigning efforts in the three Westminster constituencies covered in this area, expanding from our success in keeping a Lib Dem MP for Bath. Don't miss this chance to be part of a thriving political movement and drive positive change in our community.

Responsibilities
Working with the Campaign Team on the following responsibilities, within the framework of the local party's campaign strategy:
• Identifying and running local campaigns on the ground, directly with the community
• Nurturing grassroots volunteer engagement and developing new networks
• Supporting councillors and candidates in their campaigns
• Management and development of existing volunteers
• Facilitating a full field programme of voter contact
• Membership support with the party’s Membership Development Officer
• Any other duties as required
