We’re looking for a Public Affairs Officer to join our team supporting the Head of Public Affairs on the delivery of the strategic public affairs priorities for 2023-2024.

As the country’s largest housing association it’s essential that we build strong relationships with elected politicians and other stakeholders across the country. The Public Affairs Officer will support operational teams across the organisation to engage appropriately with stakeholders at all levels, monitor parliamentary activity, attend networking events and deputise for the Head of Public Affairs as appropriate.

With demonstrable experience of working in a public affairs role and a strong working knowledge of The UK Parliamentary system and understanding of how The UK Government is structured, we’ll look to you to lead on engagement with key stakeholders at a local, regional and national level across the Group, in partnership with the Head of Public Affairs.

Using your significant experience of researching you’ll co-ordinate the preparation of briefing notes and documentation for our Group Executive Team and Regional Director meetings with MP’s and Council Leaders. You’ll lead on the collation of information about the engagement of key stakeholders across the group and report on a monthly basis using your experience of stakeholder management systems and experience of reporting on performance.

A strong understanding of The UK Parliamentary system, relevant civil service departments, regulatory authorities and how policy is developed is essential. You’ll expertly build a network of contacts in Whitehall, Westminster and the broader housing association sector, working in collaboration to support mutual interests.

You’ll have experience of organising and delivering events and will lead on a programme of internal and external events, such as training sessions for staff, in addition to providing support for our attendance at conferences.
