Job Title: Campaign and Office Manager

Working For: Isle of Wight Conservative Association

Location: Isle of Wight

Salary: Between £31,000 and £34,000, depending on experience

Length of Contract: Fixed-term (two years)

Job Details

The Isle of Wight Conservative Association (IWCA) is seeking to appoint an experienced, pro-active and hardworking Campaign and Office Manager to work full-time between this summer (2023) and June 2025.

The creation of this new role comes at a time when the Association is preparing for the establishment of two constituencies (Isle of Wight West and Isle of Wight East) at the next General Election, following boundary changes. The sitting MP (Bob Seely) will be contesting West, and a new candidate will be selected for East in June. A federated association will oversee both parliamentary seats.

In May 2025, all-out elections to the Isle of Wight Council (unitary) will take place, and the Conservatives will – once again – be contesting all 39 single-member wards. The Council is currently run by an Independent-Green coalition. The Conservatives will be looking to secure majority control of the Council.

The Campaign & Office Manager will be responsible for organising the campaigns for both the forthcoming General Election and the 2025 council elections. This will include overseeing the ramping up of “peacetime” campaign activity, including voter engagement, from this year onwards.

The Isle of Wight offers a good quality of life – and an interesting place to work. We are looking for someone who would be prepared to relocate to the Island to undertake this full-time role. It would be a rewarding and flexible job in which you could make a real difference to the Party’s electoral success on the Island.

DUTIES

  • Co-ordinate voter engagement activity – in line with the Association’s agreed strategy – working with both parliamentary candidates (including the sitting MP), IoW councillors and council candidates.
  • Plan and execute election campaigns, ensuring legal compliance at all times.
  • Co-ordinate communications, including social media.
  • Manage our office in Newport, including arranging volunteers to assist both there and in campaigns.
  • Oversee the IWCA’s administration, including in relation to fundraising events and various meetings. N.B. the IWCA’s operational model is efficient, and this would therefore be a minority part of the role.
