Job Details

Feryal Clark MP is looking for a caseworker to be based in Enfield, whose key roles will be to problem-solve the wide range of constituency casework that comes to the MP, and oversee the administration of the small constituency office.

The successful applicant should have a proven track record of problem-solving, experience with serving members of the public, and office administration. The ability to speak and write in Turkish is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate.
  • Manage large numbers of standard queries, assist on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face. Ongoing communication may be required.
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases.
  • Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken.
  • Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation.
  • Draft responses to constituents and exposure to complex cases.
  • Critically analyse patterns of enquiries and articulate the findings in reports and communication with the MP and other staff members.
  • There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally.
  • Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially, and accurately in accordance with the MP.
  • Support delivery of local campaigns and projects.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven track-record of excellent people or customer service skills - ability to deal with constituents and community groups in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
  • Knowledge and experience of problem-solving.
  • Evidence of good organisational skills.
  • Political sensitivity and ability to use initiative when appropriate, with awareness and understanding of current political issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written communications appropriate to the audience.
  • Experience of using a database system is desired but not required.
  • Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Labour Party.
  • Ability to speak and write in Turkish is desirable.

Interview/Start Dates

Interviews: w/c 8th April 2024

Interviews will take place online. Two parts will consist of a Q&A and then a discussion following a small writing task to be completed prior to interview.

Ideally to start as soon as possible.
