Green New Deal Rising is looking for a Senior Finance Officer who can ensure our financial systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with our mission.

Green New Deal Rising is building a movement of young people from every part of the UK to fight for a response to the climate crisis that totally transforms our economy to deliver a safe climate and fairer society. We believe in people power, and through a combination of disrupting the political system and reaching into our communities, we plan to make the Green New Deal an era-defining issue.

Strong financial management is crucial to sustaining our work, making sure we’re using funds effectively and adapting when things change. In our first few years we’ve established solid processes that keep our movement working effectively and give our senior team the information they need to lead our team well. We’re now looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Finance Officer to take ownership of our financial processes, reporting, and forecasting; taking them to the next level as our organisation develops.

This role will oversee our financial systems, working with our external bookkeeping service and accountants to ensure accurate financial records, efficient payments, and compliance with legal and reporting requirements. You will lead on financial reporting, providing insights to the Board and senior team, and contribute to financial strategy by tracking grant spending and improving financial controls. You will work with the Head of Operations on holding and developing our financial plan that supports our long-term impact. You will also play a key role in working with the wider team, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring that they feel supported.

You will be a highly organised finance professional with experience in financial processing, reporting, and compliance. You will have an analytical mindset, with the ability to use financial data to inform decision-making and drive improvements. You will be confident in working independently, managing multiple priorities, and communicating financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
